2 cops lead Bohol awardees at 111th PNP anniv. rites

TAGBILARAN CITY – Two local cops lead Bohol awardees during the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) 111th Police Anniversary Celebration this Monday at the Waterfront Hotel in Lahug, Cebu City, according to police senior superintendent Louie Oppus.

Oppus, who sits as chairman of the awards and promotion committee of the regional PNP revealed the news Friday during the blessing of the new Bohol Provincial Police Office in Camp Dagohoy, Tagbilaran City Friday.

Danao town chief, Police Inspector Norman L. Nuez and Senior Police Officer IV Geronimo C. Conarco of the Bohol Provincial Police Office in Camp Dagohoy lead the local awardees in the regional event which will have Police Deputy Director General Rommel Heredia as guest of honor and speaker.

PInspector Nuez of the Danao Police Station is this year’s LEAD PNP awardee the region while SPO4 Conarco is the region’s best Senior Police Non Commissioned Officer (PNCO).

Among the awardees are Bohol Provincial Public Safety Company led by PInspector Nicomedes Olaivar, as the Best Provincial Public Safety Company in the region, Danao Municipal Police Station as the best municipal station, while Governor Edgar Chatto receives a plaque of appreciation for its significant contribution to the attainment of PNP goals.

It may be recalled that the PNP celebrates its anniversary August 8, when the Philippine Constabulary, forerunner of the PNP was established in 1901. On the same date in 1975, the Integrated National Police was founded, according to Camp Dagohoy sources.

Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office is the region’s best PPO while Cebu City Police Office is the best city police office in the region.

Cebu City Public Safety Company (PSC) is the best city PSC while Talisay City Police Station is the best component city police station.

Other awardees include PSupt Rodofo Albotra Jr (CCPO) as the best senior police commissioned officer (PCO) for operations, PSinspector Maria Teresa Macatangay (RID) as the best Junior PCO.

Best Junior PNCO is PO3 Reynaldo Solante (CPPO), Best Non Uniformed Personnel (NUP) on the non supervisory level is Catherine de Gracia (RPHRDD) and special awardees are PO2 Elrich Jourdin Catacutan (CCPO), PO1 Roy Ceniza (CCPO) and PO1 Ernesto Silva Jr.

Also receiving plaques aside from Bohol are Negros Oriental PLGU, City Governments of Lapulapu, Mandaue, Share a Child Foundation, Legal Alternative for Women Inc., Children’s Legal Bureau Inc., Cebi Chamber of Commerce and Industry and PAGCOR Cebu.
